Now, we have had "Palm OS Japanese version" since the spring of 1999.
Before then we have not had the Palm OS that using Japanese.
But we can use Palm OS devices with Japanese characters thanks to one person.
He made "J-OS"; the special software for Japanese People of using Palm OS devices
with Japanese characters(it's 2 byte charactors!) in the summer of 1997
that was 4 months after the first Palm OS device was debuted in U.S.A..
His name is Tatsushi Yamada.
The Staffs of The Palm Computing Co.(then) gave him
an unique nick name; "Hucker Dude-san".
He have been a key pserson in Japanese Palm OS history!
Except "J-OS", he have made many, useful, and revolutional palmwares!
His History;
First of all, his name has been famous by "J-OS"!
"J-OS" is a name of programs which enalbes Palm OS device to handle Japanese.
Without it, Palm OS device can't hundle 2 bytes charactors such as Japanese.
In 1997, Mr.Yamada successed it, patching Palm OS with "Hack Master".
In 1998, he successed it without "Hack Master",
making "J-OS" into "Preference file" of Palm OS.
And now, although we have had Palm OS Japanese version,
there are many fan of "J-OS".
He made the first Doc-dormat reader for Japnanese, too.
Its name is "J-DOC"(1998).
It could change the direction of DOC-text since the early version.
He made the first telnet software; "AccessIt!".(1998)
And he made the first web browser software; "World Finder" in the world!(1998)
